Handgrip strength (HGS) is a well-accepted, simple clinical marker of muscle strength, especially among the older and unwell populations.1 Poor HGS is associated with increased risk of mortality, disability and other health complications.2
The hand grip dynamometer is a quick and easy, non-invasive way of measuring HGS, and may help identify patients who are, or at risk of becoming frail, and developing other such complications.
Abbott is committed to supporting you and your patients achieve the best possible outcomes, and as part of this commitment, Abbott is providing your Trust with a hand grip dynamometer to be used in patient assessments and to help monitor intervention strategies and patient progress.
For more information on the hand grip dynamometer, please speak to your local Abbott Account Manager, or contact our Freephone Nutrition Helpline on 0800 252882 or email ukabbottnutrition@abbott.com.
